Marco Rubio and the Bankruptcy of Anti-Communism

On July 16, during the U.S. State Department's Ministerial on the Resurgence of Political Terrorism, Secretary of State Marco Rubio delivered one of the most openly anti-communist speeches heard from a senior American official in years. 

Speaking before representatives from more than sixty countries, Rubio declared that communism envisions "a world without courage, without creativity or ambition, without heroes or glory... without God." He went even further, portraying Marxist revolutionaries as ideological companions of terrorists and urging a renewed international campaign against what he called "far-left political terrorism."

Donald Trump's latest anti-communist offensive once again invoked the familiar spectre of an alleged communist threat to the United States. Yet it is the occasion, rather than the speech itself, that reveals the real political purpose of his intervention. It was not provoked by the emergence of a revolutionary workers' movement, the growth of a mass Communist Party or a wave of socialist expropriations.

The Communist Party USA (CPUSA) condemned President Trump’s latest red‑baiting tirade against the social democratic "Democratic Socialists of America" (DSA) primary victories in New York and of the District of Columbia mayoral candidate Janeese Lewis George, calling it a dangerous escalation of anti‑communist hysteria. 

 

“MAGA is going to lose the midterms and Trump’s getting desperate,” co-chair Rossana Cambron said.  

 

Outrageous! Communist Party of Slovakia punished for its 100th anniversary campaign

A Slovak court has upheld penalties against the Communist Party of Slovakia (KSS) and members of its leadership over a campaign commemorating the party's 100th anniversary, in a ruling that has sparked strong condemnation from communist parties abroad.

The case dates back to 2021, when the KSS marked the centenary of its foundation with a nationwide campaign featuring commemorative posters bearing the hammer and sickle and the slogan "Without socialism, it will not work." 

KKE MEPs: No to the ban of the Soviet and the anti-fascist symbols in Germany and the Baltic states

The  Europarliamentary Group of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) has highlighted the unacceptable ban in Germany and the Baltic states on Soviet and anti-fascist symbols, with which people around the world commemorate May 9, the day of the Great Anti-Fascist Victory, through a question submitted to the European Commission by the KKE MEP, Kostas Papadakis.

Authorities in Germany, as well as in the Baltic states, banned the “display” and posting of Soviet and anti-fascist symbols during the celebrations on May 9, the Day of the Great Anti-Fascist Victory of the Peoples.

Germany: Is Die Linke joining the anti-communist campaign against Soviet memorials?

A new controversy in Germany has once again exposed the increasingly problematic stance adopted by the so-called "Left" (Die Linke) on questions of historical memory and the legacy of the Soviet Union.

At the center of the debate is a proposal submitted by the Greens in the Berlin state parliament concerning the Soviet war memorials that commemorate the Red Army's decisive role in the defeat of Nazi Germany. The proposal calls for additional measures and forms of "contextualization" regarding the memorials, under the pretext of preventing their alleged political "misuse" in the context of current geopolitical tensions.

Polish state fails to outlaw Communist Party, faces international condemnation

The anti-communist campaign waged by the Polish state against the Communist Party of Poland (KPP) has suffered a significant setback following the party's return to the official register of political parties.

The development comes after months of attempts by the Polish authorities to eliminate the KPP from legal political life. Last December, the Constitutional Tribunal ruled that the party's activities were allegedly incompatible with the country's constitution, providing the legal pretext for its removal from the register.

Soviet flag sparks anti-communist frenzy in Czech Republic!

An act of political defiance at the Brno city council in the Czech Republic has once again exposed the rabid anti-communism of the Czech ruling class and the broader reactionary campaign underway across Europe to criminalize the communist movement.  

On May 19, during a council session, a woman raised a Soviet flag in protest against the gathering of the Sudeten German association in the city — an organization tied to the legacy of German revanchism and the post-war dispute over the Sudetenland. Police immediately intervened and authorities launched an investigation against the protester for allegedly promoting a... “totalitarian ideology”! 

VERGOGNA! Meloni government pushes Marx and Gramsci out of Italian schools

The far-right Italian government is once again revealing its deeply reactionary political agenda. Under the guise of “educational reform,” the administration of Giorgia Meloni is moving to marginalize Marx and Gramsci from philosophy programs in Italian high schools, provoking outrage among academics, teachers and intellectuals across the country.

The attempt to push Marxist thought out of schools represents a deliberate effort to reshape education according to a conservative, nationalist and openly anti-communist narrative. 

Ukraine officially rehabilitates Nazi collaborator Andriy Melnyk

The Ukrainian authorities have proceeded with the official repatriation and honoring of Andriy Melnyk, leader of the notorious Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN-M), once again exposing the increasingly open rehabilitation of fascist and collaborationist forces within the country’s official historical narrative.

Melnyk was one of the principal leaders of the OUN, an ultra-nationalist and fiercely anti-communist organization that collaborated with Nazi Germany during World War II. Despite repeated attempts by Ukrainian nationalist circles to sanitize this history, the political character of the OUN remains inseparable from fascist ideology, ethnic chauvinism and collaboration with the Nazi occupation.

Anti-communist crackdown in Azerbaijan: Activists arrested for raising USSR flags

Authorities in Azerbaijan have detained several individuals after they attempted to organize a march in Baku carrying the flags of the Soviet Union and the Azerbaijan SSR, in yet another episode highlighting the intensifying anti-communist climate promoted by the country’s ruling establishment.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, police operations led to the detention of Abdulla Ibrahimli, Ibrahim Asadli and other individuals whose names were not disclosed. 

What does Berlin fear? Soviet symbols banned again ahead of 9 May anniversary!

For yet another consecutive year, German authorities in Berlin are imposing restrictions around Soviet war memorials during the anniversary of the Great Anti-Fascist Victory of the Peoples on 9 May, banning Soviet flags and symbols associated with the Red Army that defeated Nazism!

According to an administrative order issued by Berlin police, the restrictions will apply from 8 to 9 May around the Soviet memorials in Treptow, Mitte and Pankow.

Based on the striking photographic evidence of the 200 communists who stood up face to face with the Nazi monster, the Question exposes the unhistorical nature of the EU’s ideology, which equates communism with the monster of fascism, as well as its undermining and deliberate stance towards the still-unfulfilled demand that German war reparations be paid for the Nazi atrocities in Greece.

How the European Parliament promotes anti-Cuban propaganda by applying double standards

A revealing case of “double standards” by the European Parliament has come to light regarding its stance toward socialist Cuba.

On 13 January 2026, the parliamentary group of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) scheduled an exhibition dedicated to the internationalist contribution of Cuban doctors, focusing on the Henry Reeve medical brigades and their role in supporting peoples affected by pandemics and natural disasters. In Western political mythology, the address is often portrayed as a prophetic warning about Soviet expansion. In reality, it was something quite different: a calculated ideological declaration of hostility toward the socialist world and one of the founding political acts of the Cold War.
